The EDCH Coordination Team

The EDCH Coordination Team is the backbone of the organisation, ensuring seamless coordination, management, communication and administration of the EDCH. 

It supports and coordinates the Assembly, the Steering and Executive Committees, and the Task Forces to guarantee the efficient implementation of EDCH’s joint programmes and projects.

Bringing together a diverse range of expertise and knowledge, the team works to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the EDCH.

Co-coordinator

Pierre Mounier

Pierre is the co-coordinator of the EDCH alongside Johan. Trained in classics and social anthropology, he is affiliated with the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). He serves as deputy director of OpenEdition, the French national infrastructure for open scholarly communication in the Social Sciences and Humanities, and co-director of the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB). He regularly publishes on digital humanities, open science, and the broader social and political impact of information and communication technologies (ICT).

Johan Rooryck

Johan is the co-coordinator of the EDCH alongside Pierre. Johan Rooryck was Executive Director of cOAlition S from 2019 to 2025. Since 2016, he is co-editor-in-chief of the Diamond Open Access journal Glossa: a journal of general linguistics, a journal that transitioned to Diamond Open Access when its Editorial Team and Board, as well as its reader and author community, decided to abandon the Elsevier-owned journal Lingua to found Diamond OA Glossa.  He is a member of the Academia Europaea, a doctor honoris causa of UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, and a visiting professor at Leiden University, where he held the chair of French linguistics from 1993 to 2020.

Executive manager

Irakleitos Souyioultzoglou

Irakleitos oversees the daily operations and contributes to the further development of the EDCH. He also participates in EU-funded projects supporting Open Science best practices (Skills4EOSC), and a sustainable scholarly communication ecosystem (DIAMAS). Irakleitos holds a PhD in Social Anthropology and has experience in the implementation of projects focusing on the development of digital infrastructures and the introduction of open research practices in the Social Sciences and Humanities. 

Policy officer

Sona Arasteh-Roodsary

As policy officer for the EDCH, Sona works to advance Diamond OA through policy development and international collaboration. She follows the development and implementation of policies and best practices relevant to Diamond OA throughout the ERA and seeks to help align those efforts. Additionally, she oversees communication and public relations efforts related to the EDCH together with Marion.

Community manager

Marion Paulhac

As the EDCH community manager, her main goal is to build, engage, and unite the Diamond OA publishing community across the ERA. She fosters connections through the EDCH website and forum, and ensures the community’s needs are met. Alongside Sona, she co-coordinates public relations and communication related to the EDCH, keeping the community informed and connected at all times.

Federated Infrastructure Manager

Baptiste Grenier

Baptiste is working at the OPERAS AISBL and is involved in the technical coordination of the OPERAS and EDCH services. Over the last 10 years he has been working on the coordination of IT services, operations and security of a large pan-European e-infrastructure, active in their CSIRT, and implementing an ISO/IEC 27001 certified ISMS for the organization. For 20 years he has been supporting researchers and open science with the development, deployment and operation of various GNU/Linux-based IT services together with the deployment and maintenance of compute sites while being a strong advocate of IT services automation. He is certified as Puppet Professional, FitSM expert, ISO/IEC 27001 Professional and ISMS Security Officer, and for TF-CSIRT TRANSIT I and II.
