The European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH) is a collective that provides services for Diamond Open Access Publishers, Service Providers, and Tools & Technology Providers.
It takes its place alongside other regional Capacity Hubs such as Redalyc-Amelica and AJOL, and thus provides a gateway to the global Diamond Open Access community.
Diamond OA is an equitable model of scholarly publication that charges no fees to authors or readers and in which the content-related elements of publication are owned and controlled by the scholarly communities.
The EDCH aims to deliver to the European research community an aligned, high-quality, and sustainable OA scholarly communication infrastructure, capable of implementing OA as a standard publication practice.
The EDCH is supported by European organisations committed to advancing equitable and community-driven Diamond OA publishing in the European Research Area (Supporting and Operational Members).
Publishers
Organisations responsible for preparing, producing, and distributing scholarly content to the public, including books, journals, and conference proceedings.
Service Providers
Entities providing infrastructure and support for scholarly publishing—from editorial and production to IT, marketing, finance, and beyond.
Tools and Technology Providers
Providers of software, standards, and tech solutions that power scholarly publishing—such as peer review systems, XML structuring tools, metadata standards, PIDs, and content management platforms.

Resources & Guidelines
This is a set of resources that support publishers moving towards Diamond Open Access (OA). They include concise high-level introductions to Diamond OA and to the Diamond OA Standard as well as guidelines and good practices for journal publishing, offering detailed instructions and practical guidance to assist publishers.

DOAS and its self-assessment tools
The Diamond Open Access Standard (DOAS) helps foster quality assurance in Diamond OA publishing, providing both a practical guide and benchmarking resources for checking quality and sustainability. It allows Diamond OA Publishers and Providers to assess their compliance with its seven quality components, as well as their financial sustainability.

(Coming soon!) The Diamond Discovery Hub (DDH)
The DDH aims to provide an authoritative list of Diamond OA journals in Europe, helping these journals increase their visibility in the academic community and beyond. Diamond OA journals included in the Diamond Discovery Hub must fulfil the six operational criteria for Diamond Open Access.

(Coming soon!) Publishing Tools
Publishing Tools refers to a set of software tools, add-ons and other technical developments that serve to improve technical efficiency at the level of publishing workflows and platforms. The publishing tools will also furnish the necessary components to ensure seamless interoperability between various publishing software solutions.

Registry & Forum
The Registry and Forum are virtual spaces dedicated to fostering collaboration and networking among Diamond OA Community Members. They provide a place where services, tools and technologies can be presented and discussed. All Diamond OA Centers, Publishers, and Providers across Europe are invited to join the Registry to become Community Members.

(Coming soon!) Training Platform
The Training Platform is dedicated to helping Diamond Publishing Service and Diamond Tools & Technology Providers enhance their skills and build capacity by offering skill-building training modules and curricula in various areas, including the seven components of the Diamond OA Standard.
